Living Wisdom 9 released! And they said it couldn't be done! Living Wisdom 9 has now been released and if you are a digital subscriber, you should have already received a link from zinio.com advising you of this and letting you know where to download the issue. If you don't show this link, please check your junk or deleted items folder and be sure to whitelist the zinio.com domain so you are sure to receive all future issues. If you still don't show the link and you believe you are a subscriber or member who is entitled to the digital edition (not the hard copy), please email me and I will check and get back to you. The digital magazine can be read on any computer, most tablets (e.g. IOS, android, etc) and many smartphones as well so you will not be tied to your computer if you have one of these devices. Do you have 3-4 hours spare? The AVN will be sending out the hard copy of Living Wisdom 9 on Monday, March 12th. We are looking for 4-5 volunteers to come to our office outside of Bangalow on that day for 3-4 hours each to help getting the magazine out. The job is simple (but time consuming) and just involves putting stickers on envelopes and sticking the magazine inside. If you have a few hours spare that day and live within driving distance of Bangalow NSW (from Grafton to the Gold Coast), I would really appreciate your help. Bring a plate to share for morning tea or lunch and a fun time is sure to be had by all! We are hopeful that by the end of this month, we will either have our authority to fundraise back or be on the way towards getting it back. That will mean that we can accept new members and donations from the general public once again.

Vaccination News

We are always being told that the current record-breaking epidemic of whooping cough - now in its 5th straight year with no sign of a reduction in incidence - is a result of the minuscule proportion of Australian children who are unvaccinated as well as the 'reservoir' of unvaccinated adults. This is despite the fact that the adult vaccination has only been available since 2005 and our rate of whooping cough has gone up steadily since that year. Greg Beattie spent a solid year trying to get data from the Australian government on the actual statistics for the vaccination rate of those who contract whooping cough. His information - approved by the government prior to publication, can be found below. Whooping cough in Australian children - how many were vaccinated? For the years 2008-2010, there were a total of 9333 cases of whooping cough reported in children aged 0-4 years. Among them were 754 who were either too young or otherwise not eligible to have been vaccinated, and 1497 for whom vaccine status was not known.Of the remaining 7082 cases whose vaccine status was known, and who were eligible to have received the vaccine, 5296 (75%) were fully vaccinated for their age. A further 986 (14%) were partly vaccinated. Only 800 (11%) were un-vaccinated.

Could the RSV virus in humans be a result of contaminated vaccines There is a new vaccine that is currently undergoing trials and should be released shortly against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) - a virus that can cause cold and flu-like upper-respiratory symptoms and can cause severe illness in children who are immunocompromised or living in third-world conditions.But is this a vaccine against a disease caused by vaccines since RSV is apparently indistinguishable from one of the 60-known monkey viruses known to contaminate polio vaccines - namely the Chimpanzee Coryza Agent? If so, how many more vaccine associated diseases will we be forced to vaccinate against because animal viruses have jumped species due to their injection in vaccines? Lawyer threatened with gaol if she does not name clients who received vaccine exemptions In the US, vaccine exemptions are a state matter. In New York, the only exemptions available are for medical or religious reasons. Parents who don't want to vaccinate because they simply feel that their children may be harmed by shots have nowhere to turn if they want to send their kids to school.There are a small number of legal practitioners who are willing to help these parents with advice on their rights. Finn is one of these lawyers. She helped nurses overturn a requirement for them to receive flu vaccines during the AH1N1 (swine) flu campaign a couple of years ago and as a result, became a fairly high-profile advocate for the most basic of rights - the right to choose what does and does not go into your body.She is now facing legal action due to the State of New York demanding that she reveal the names of the parents she has helped. Finn is taking a brave stance, stating that she will go to gaol before she gives up the names that are supposed to be protected by privilege. Listen to her story here.
