Guest guest
Hi, not sure where you are on LI but when we lived there we put our son in a church preschool and had no problem. This was in port Jeff. We have since moved and homeschool now. Just wanted to encourage you that as far as preschools go, I was able to find one. Not sure if you have a pediatrician... I went to a group in Holbrook that didn't give me a hard time. This was about 5 years ago so not sure if they are the same now. Whereabouts are you?Good luck and hope you can find somewhere without a lot of hassle! On Jun 1, 2012, at 10:45 AM, "krisb07" <krisb07@...> wrote: Hello, I am a mother to a 15 month old and am starting to look into pre-schools for my daughter who will start in the fall of 2013. Has anyone gone through this process on Long Island? If so what was your experience? I have been so preoccupied with this that I think I am looking to have someone give me some hope that I will be able to enroll her in the school system here. I realize this could be a challenge and I am up for that, but the more and more that I hear about the challenges that parents have across the nation it makes me nervous as New York has such strict laws pertaining to vaccinations. Any feedback regarding Long Island would be helpful! Thank you so much! Kris
Guest guest
Thanks for the feedback! I am in Hauppauge and I am not as worried about the ore-school as I am about the public school system when she hits kindergarten. Does anyone have experience with the public school system on long island? Guest guest
well, we have no idea what will happen between now and kindergarten, with laws. right now it just depends on the school district, how rigid they are. Guest guest
Weiner <dweineresq@...> is an attorney who helps with this (not giving advice as an attorney though, he says - he used to charge $100 to help.........not sure now.....) Here is what she wrote for the school with the help of the above, who helps people through this (everything has to be religious based - not moral): 1. Explain in your own words why you are requesting this religious exemption. I am requesting a religious exemption from mandatory vaccination for my son, ______________, because injecting man made vaccines into my God given child goes against my religious beliefs. 3.Describe the religious principles that guide your objection to immunization. I believe that God gives us His intrinsic ability to launch a defense against illnesses. My trust in God prevents me from accepting vaccinations. 3. Indicate whether you are opposed to all immunizations, and if not, the religious basis that prohibits particular immunizations. For these reasons, I am opposed to all innoculations.
