Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone here knows law regarding children with egg allergy. I have patient who's son has a severe egg allergy, among other severe allergies (for which I suspect his previous vaccines have played a large role) His preschool said they would not allow him in this year with out a flu shot, and he was forced to sit in his allergists office for four hrs, and take the shot in four small doses while they waited for reaction. He obviously did not have an exemption (religious or medical). I thought I remembered reading that if one has an egg allergy that they could be medically exempt from egg containing vaccines. This poor little guy has had a few bouts of anaphylactic shock that the Dr's term idiopathic (read unknown origin... but as we know it was likely brought on by the vax's) My question is 3 part: 1. What is the law on allergies /and vax containing allergic substance? 2. Can a flu vax be compulsory for preschool? 3. Does having previous vax's nullify any chance of religious exemption? I understand this may vary by state, they are in CT. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks so much!
