AVN seminar updatesThe rest of 2012 is going to be the 'year of the seminar'. From Central Western NSW to the Gold and Sunshine Coast to Perth and Melbourne and possibly - even to Tasmania. The plan is to bring the message of informed vaccination choice to as many parts of Australia as possible. Please read the information below.

Because nobody from the mainstream medical community has been willing to come forward to present the benefits of vaccination to our audience (click here and here to read more about this), we are very happy to announce that Greg Beattie, author of Fooling Ourselves on the Fundamental Value of Vaccination, has volunteered to take on that role. I cannot imagine a better-informed, more able spokesperson then Greg and I am grateful for his participation at these events!Also, everyone who attends these seminars (1 per couple please) will leave with a FREE CD containing hundreds of megabytes worth of information on vaccination so if you are tossing up about whether or not to come to this seminar, this will hopefully balance the scales towards deciding to attend. Today, more then ever, the government and the medical community are trying to restrict your right to make informed health choices for yourself and your family.

There is a great deal of confusion about the following issues: Do you have the right to send your child to school, preschool, playgroup and childcare if they are not vaccinated?Does the government have the right to withhold any of your financial entitlements if you choose not to vaccinate your child? Do doctors, nurses and other health staff working in hospital settings have a right to say no to vaccination? Why is Australia currently experiencing the biggest and longest-lived whooping cough epidemic in its history despite our highest-ever rate of childhood vaccination? Why is one child in 20 now estimated to be autistic when 30 years ago, that figure was one in 20,000? Has vaccination played a role in this and other epidemics of chronic diseases (asthma, eczema, food allergies, diabetes, childhood cancer, etc.)Come and hear Meryl Dorey, President of the Australian Vaccination Network, Inc. discuss these issues and more. Seminar tour - Central / Western NSWThe AVN will be bringing the Vaccination and Health - Your Right to Choose - seminars to Central Western NSW. It is important to ensure that those who live in rural areas - who normally don't get to share in these sorts of events - are able to access this information. If you live in the areas listed below and would like to be involved in the planning or help out on the night, please let us know either by phone (02 6687 1699), FAX (02 6678 0894) or email - info@.... Below are the jobs that we will need help with if you or someone you know can assist:1- suggesting a venue that might be appropriate for this event - I am estimating that we'll need one that seats about 50 people. I have my own data projector, small screen (it would be good if the venue had a screen though if the room is big) and sound system so all we'll need is a lectern and chairs for the audience.2- Help promoting the seminar. I know that some of you have lists of people you regularly contact regarding different issues. Would you be willing to send them advance notice of this seminar?3- Names of newspapers, radio stations and TV networks (and likely journalists as well if you happen to know this information) that broadcast / print in the area so I can submit community announcements.4- Help with putting up flyers in natural therapy offices / health food stores and other likely spots where parents of young children might see them (childcare centres, council clinics, etc.) we will be providing the flyers - we just need people in the local area who would be willing to help get them out into the community.I think it's important to get out into areas where these sorts of seminars never go. Everyone can expect us to go to the capital cities, but it's rare to go to rural spots to give these talks. As we announced in a recent e-newsletter, the AVN has just established a fighting fund for 2 specific purposes - one for our own legal costs due to the ongoing attacks by Stop the AVN and the Australian Skeptics who are trying to force our organisation to close its doors. The other is to help families who are currently in court facing enforced vaccination of their children because during divorce battles, one partner has decided to try and force the other to vaccinate their children.Above is a small image of the flyer we have made up for this fundraising effort. Survey closing on June 30th - please take 5 minutes to answer a few questions about vaccine reactions

We are often told that vaccinations are perfectly safe or, if there is a small risk of side effects, most effects are mild and transitory with serious reactions only affecting 1 vaccinated person in a million. Since the Australian Government readily admits that as few as 1% of all serious vaccine (and drug) reactions are ever reported, it is obvious that the vast majority of these events are not acknowledged. The AVN would like to hear from you. Has someone in your family been adversely affected by vaccination? Was that reaction ever acknowledged by the medical industry and were mainstream medical therapies helpful in treating or overcoming the results of the reaction or were you able to find assistance from within the natural therapies community? Lastly, what is the current condition of the vaccine-injured person today? The AVN would be very grateful if you could take the time to answer these few questions. We estimate that it will only take approximately 5 minutes and it will go a long way towards helping us understand how many people are actually being affected by vaccination and how few of those reactions are ever counted in the official statistics. We do not claim that this is a scientific survey, but it will give us an indication of how big a problem we are facing when it comes to vaccine injuries and deaths.
