Meredith,

Mr. Seetoo's response is correct. A private school is required

under COMAR 10.06.04.05C to maintain a list of all enrolled students who

have an exemption to immunization on religious grounds.

Thank you for your call. I have spoken with other staff here.

There have been instances of this situation happening in the past.

We have referred to the Attorney General's office in the past regarding

this issue and they have told us that the school cannot refuse to accept

the religious exemption regardless of whether or not the school receives

state funds.

For your information, I have attached the land school requirement

regulations along with the land immunization form (896) that includes

the exemption section. Please contact the Center for

Immunization if you have further questions
