Ick. Is CP really that contagious that one exposure could cause someone to get it? I don't know. I don't remember my kids getting much of a fever at all with CP, so I'm not sure if you need to worry about the febrile seizures. How high does the temp have to get before that happens? Guest guest
Yeah, when he gets fevers, he goes from 98.6 to 104 in about 1/2 hour, it's crazy. You can have a fever of 104 with no seizures at all, it's just a matter of spikes like that. His homeopath is working on it with us. =) I am also wondering - the sick child that I know is fully vaxed. Does that mean he has some strain of the pox that the vax doesn't cover, or is the pox he has the vaccine strain? He wasn't vaxed recently... Guest guest
It's all a guessing game. No one can know the answer to that. Either is possible. I think I'd hold off deliberately exposing him to something with the febrile seizure problem, although on the flip side he's probably exposed anyway if he's out in the world. So much depends on your immune system as to whether you're going to get sick. Guest guest
my son also had a febrile seizure.. he is 3 years old and I also have a 6 year old daughter.. i want them to go ahead and get cp and get it over with.. but not sure when this will happen yet.. I have been working on building their immune system up. my plan with my son is to keep with tons cold liquids and a warm rag on his head to try to keep the fevers away oh and honey I use honey for everything.. Guest guest
my experience with fevers (febrile) is using room temperature liquids(on the cooler side) but not cold water as the cold water can be too extreme on their little bodies. With my 2nd child I used cold and I really think it sent him into the seizure where he passed out. After that I only used room temp water/liquids, but kept lots of liquids in and never had that problem again with the him or the rest. Anybody else have thoughts? > > > > > > > > > >I personally don't like the idea of sharing lollipops. Ick. Is CP > > > >really that contagious that one exposure could cause someone to get > > > >it?
