I am 68 and have only had symptoms ms from my cmt for the last few years. I was

tested the blood test and also saw really bad neurologist about 15 year. the

neurologist at that time did not really test me for CMT and told my doctor that

i had arthritis. i always new that she had not tested me properly but did not

worry about it at the time as I had a lot going on in my life . First i lost my

son who had cmt and also Hodgekinsons disease for 13 years when he dies at the

age of 33. Then my husband died and it was only after this that the symptoms in

my legs and feet started to bother me. My one leg swells really bad ever since

i had a bad fall about 17 years ago and in the last year my other leg has been

really painful and it is also swelling . With this problems i went to my doctor

and i and taking neurotonin it is working on my lower legs and feet for the

pain. But i still have the swelling I take Vioxx for that but still have the

swelling. But the neurontin has really helped my feet and lower legs. But I

now have another problem in that they believe i have what is called pagets

disease in my thigh or hip . I have to go for a scan . i will also be seeing

another neurologist in June and perhaps he can shed some light on my cmt for me

... Good luck to your sun . I thank the people on board who talked about taking

neurontin because it is really helping part of my problems .
