Guest guest
Hi , I also don't write often, but I have had my AFOs about 2 1/2 years and have had to travel about 4 times in that time frame. I have walked through without setting them off and I have had been wanded off to the side, but I have never had to totally remove them. The first couple of times I got a letter from the Dr. that ordered them, to take to airport, but found not necessary. Good Luck in your travels, Connie, P'burg, OH
Guest guest
I, too have traveled by air several times since I've had my AFOs. I always get pulled to the side because I use my wheelchair in the airport. I have never been asked to remove my AFOs, although I've offered, but they always use the wand. It's really no big deal, and I appreciate the safety precaution. K.
Guest guest
Connie and Gretchen, thanks for writing of your experiences in airline travel. I imagine I am being overly concerned, but having been using the AFOs now for a month or so only, I am just getting into some breaking-in issues of a physical nature, and of the interpersonal nature, such as the airline check-in. As you say, it will be fine, I am sure, and will later be, in retrospect, a trivial thing to concern myself and others with.
