" When you wish upon a star, makes no difference, who you are, everything your

heart desires, will come to you! "

Melodie,

Totally Awesome! I am so happy for you. I understand the baby thing. I too,

had both children C-section. Keep up the good work but don't expect to be

seeing that tummy move much anymore, cuz there won't be one to move! Gone,

Adios, Out of there! Glad you finally posted and we all welcome you on board.

We sure are enjoying a lot of new members, since our site is only a few

weeks old. It's great fun to hear the experiences of others, good or bad.

Remember, we love to hear of your successes, but are equally interested in

any challenges you are facing in your oxygen program as well as, ready to

help out in times of discouragement. With Ll these are usually minimal, but

if you should need us, we're here!

Sincerely,

Tami

HI FOLKS,

I've been a silent " consumer " of this list for about two weeks. Guess

it's about time I speak up!

My name is Melodie and I live in northern Virginia. I've been struggling

with a weight problem since my second son was born (4 years ago next

week). After two c-sections, I had come to the conclusion that I would

NEVER be able to have firm skin in my lower abdomen. Exercise has always

been an issue for me, because I have exercise induced asthma. I also

have low back problems, a torn rotator cuff in my dominate shoulder, and

limitations with both of my hands due to carpal tunnel syndrome (even

after surgery-I waited too long to have it). I've tried to stay active,

but it has become increasingly harder during the last two years.

Well, I turned 40 (welcome to the 40s Tami!) in January, and that is when

I decided that something had to give. I religiously used our treadmill

for 6 weeks. Lost NO weight, but did feel a little firming in my quads.

Then a friend told me about LifeLift. I've been using this program for a

little over 2 weeks now. From the very beginning I started doing 40 in

the morning--in between getting my boys ready for school. Every day it

has become easier and easier to get up to do them. In fact, this morning

I was DONE before it was time to get the boys up! Most days I manage to

get another 40 in before supper. I find doing them with an empty stomach

is best for my asthma issues. I also do a few in the car when I'm out

going to meetings or returning from delivering the boys to different

places.

It took me a couple of days to get a rhythm that worked for me, and I

still struggle. But here are a few things that I've noticed that have

helped. Being someone who is fairly involved musically, I've always

found that keeping a rhythm is important. In LL, this means using a

count for breathing in (usually about 8), inhaling (about 8), remembering

to hold my breath (usually about 4), releasing the breath with the pah

(usually 8-10), and then holding (about 8-12). On days that I'm really

having problems with getting my breath, I really concentrate remembering

to hold by breath before doing the pah. If I rush that, I frequently get

out of breath.

Something else that also brought things together for me was watching my

tummy move in the mirror. Even though I thought I had been breathing

from my diaphragm for years (while singing), I have discovered that I

really wasn't getting the full benefit from deep breathing. In fact,

when I wasn't concentrating, I found that my tummy was actually moving in

the WRONG direction at times. Now I make sure that my tummy is getting

smaller when I exhale and getting bigger when I inhale. When I do this,

I can really feel a vacuum created in my abdominal cavity!

As for results. Well, I still haven't lost any weight, but I haven't

gained any either. However, I have lost 2 3/4 from the waist, 1 1/4 inch

from the upper abdomen, 1 1/2 inches from the lower abdomen, about an

inch from the hips, but nothing from the thighs. My lower abdomen has

really tightened--in fact I can actually see the my c-section scar

without having to move my tummy out of the way!

I'm really looking forward to getting my Body Wrap special that I ordered

this week. I'm hopeful that maybe I can get some results for my hips and

thighs!

Anyway, I've gotten a lot of encouragement from monitoring this list.

Figured it was my turn to speak up and be supportive. Hope this helps

some others!

Melodie,

You're doing great! Don't stress it, you'll be there sooner than you might

think. Don't for get to drink LOTS of water and remember to keep eating.

You have to keep that wonderful body for yours fueled, if you want it to burn

the fat. Oh ya, one more thing, dreams are where it all starts! Keeping

dreaming your way to success and let the dreams grow as you do!

Melodie,

I want to thank you for sharing. I really do need to hear other people having success. I love your suggestions too. As for weight loss. I have lost several dress sizes and only 5 pounds maybe! So, I had to re-think my desire to lose weight and be glad that what I really wanted to happen was! I really no longer care what the scales say because I am fitting into clothes that look good on me. In fact the other day, my mother asked me what I was weighing now (195). I told her and she about died! She was so horrified that I weighed so much. She asked what size I was wearing and I told her a loose size 12. She didn't believe me. I told her to come to my house and check it out for herself!

So, for me anyway. Weight is no longer an issue. I would like to be able to wear my size 10's again. As I said before, I am 5'11" and 10's are probably as small as I would want to go. I prefer a little padding to give me those "girlie" curves! LOL!

Hi Melodie,

You are so wonderful to speak up and be supportive of the others on the list who may still be struggling. Often when they recognize themselves in a message they feel more connected and then their hope and faith increases. Thanks for sharing.

I am so impressed with your commitment to doing your 40 breaths in spite of your back problems and other limitaions. The great news is that each of the problems you described are being benefitted by the oxygen you are getting with each Life Lift breath you do, and besides, your inch loss is terrific!

Your ideas are all terrific. What I see in reading your message is a wonderful determination to do this for yourself and a creative mind that will find every possible way to make it come together. This is exactly how I function and that is the reason I have been able to overcome so many obstacles in my life. Life Lift was created from trying new things and searching for better ways to make it work. You are doing the same thing, by being aware, looking in the mirror and noticing changes is a part of that.

It is completely natural for you to lose the inches before the weight comes off, it sounds like you understand the principal of muscle weighing more than fat and now you are building muscle, burning fat. I have complete faith in you. I know that you will take this all the way to your dream of the size you really want to be and then you will remain there, healthy and happy for the rest of your life. Yippee for you! I know you can do this.

I absolutely love that you incorporate the rythym into your workout with Life Lift. Your musical background will be very good for this and I find that is helpful for me too! I always have music playing in the background of my life. I find it keeps my energy higher and it just feeds my soul to listen to music that I love. I have become addicted to Latin music and I find that as I am sitting at the computer I do the little rear end squeezes as I do Life Lift and it feels exilarating. It doesn't hurt my feelings when I look in the mirror and realize what good things it is doing for my back side either.

I am very excited for you to get started on your Body Wrap package too! I feel certain that you will love what it does for you. You should be receiving it soon. Let me know when it arrives.

Take care, and thanks again for your message. It was filled with great information and ideas.

You ARE W O N D E R F U L ! Thanks for your support and encouragement.

I in fact do have a dream to be at least in a size 10 for my younger

sister's wedding on June 17th. With everyone's love and support, I'm

From: Emailtamihere@... "When you wish upon a star, makes no difference, who you are, everything your heart desires, will come to you!"Melodie,Totally Awesome! I am so happy for you. I understand the baby thing. I too, had both children C-section. Keep up the good work but don't expect to be seeing that tummy move much anymore, cuz there won't be one to move! Gone, Adios, Out of there! Glad you finally posted and we all welcome you on board. We sure are enjoying a lot of new members, since our site is only a few weeks old. It's great fun to hear the experiences of others, good or bad. Remember, we love to hear of your successes, but are equally interested in any challenges you are facing in your oxygen program as well as, ready to help out in times of discouragement. With Ll these are usually minimal, but if you should need us, we're here!Sincerely,TamiIn a message dated 3/22/00 9:02:12 AM Pacific Standard Time, mkfeather@... writes:<< From: Melodie K Feather <mkfeather@...>HI FOLKS,I've been a silent "consumer" of this list for about two weeks. After two c-sections, I had come to the conclusion that I wouldNEVER be able to have firm skin in my lower abdomen. Exercise has alwaysbeen an issue for me, because I have exercise induced asthma. I alsohave low back problems, a torn rotator cuff in my dominate shoulder, andlimitations with both of my hands due to carpal tunnel syndrome (evenafter surgery-I waited too long to have it). I've tried to stay active, but it has become increasingly harder during the last two years. Well, I turned 40 (welcome to the 40s Tami!) in January, and that is whenI decided that something had to give. I religiously used our treadmillfor 6 weeks. Lost NO weight, but did feel a little firming in my quads. Then a friend told me about LifeLift. I've been using this program for alittle over 2 weeks now. From the very beginning I started doing 40 inthe morning--in between getting my boys ready for school. Every day ithas become easier and easier to get up to do them. In fact, this morningI was DONE before it was time to get the boys up! Most days I manage toget another 40 in before supper. I find doing them with an empty stomachis best for my asthma issues. I also do a few in the car when I'm outgoing to meetings or returning from delivering the boys to differentplaces. It took me a couple of days to get a rhythm that worked for me, and Istill struggle. But here are a few things that I've noticed that havehelped. Being someone who is fairly involved musically, I've alwaysfound that keeping a rhythm is important. In LL, this means using acount for breathing in (usually about 8), inhaling (about 8), rememberingto hold my breath (usually about 4), releasing the breath with the pah(usually 8-10), and then holding (about 8-12). On days that I'm reallyhaving problems with getting my breath, I really concentrate rememberingto hold by breath before doing the pah. If I rush that, I frequently getout of breath.Something else that also brought things together for me was watching mytummy move in the mirror. Even though I thought I had been breathingfrom my diaphragm for years (while singing), I have discovered that Ireally wasn't getting the full benefit from deep breathing. In fact, when I wasn't concentrating, I found that my tummy was actually moving inthe WRONG direction at times. Now I make sure that my tummy is gettingsmaller when I exhale and getting bigger when I inhale. When I do this,I can really feel a vacuum created in my abdominal cavity! As for results. Well, I still haven't lost any weight, but I haven'tgained any either. However, I have lost 2 3/4 from the waist, 1 1/4 inchfrom the upper abdomen, 1 1/2 inches from the lower abdomen, about aninch from the hips, but nothing from the thighs. My lower abdomen hasreally tightened--in fact I can actually see the my c-section scarwithout having to move my tummy out of the way!I'm really looking forward to getting my Body Wrap special that I orderedthis week. I'm hopeful that maybe I can get some results for my hips andthighs!Anyway, I've gotten a lot of encouragement from monitoring this list. Figured it was my turn to speak up and be supportive.
