I have ankle weakness and leg pain, but I'd say the most problematic symptom for me is upper body weakness off and on. When I have it, it's pretty severe. I'm very easily injured and just started PT again for it. The therapist was surprised how much strength I'd lost, and frankly that frightened me a little. I had genetic testing and my type is uncertain. The specific mutation was found but has only been seen in our family.... it's a type of MPZ protein defect... affects myelin sheath. The debate with the docs seems to be whether it is type 1 or type 2. So.... I have wondered if the upper body / shoulder / neck weakness is related to CMT. Maybe so...
