Guest guest
Karma, thanks for that inspiring post. You are so right about the visualization and the need to be balanced. I think that could pertain to all areas of our lives. Along these same thoughts, it has become apparent to me that while using the Life Lift breathing technique, we need to also incorporate a winning attitude, and claim the victory as ours, to ensure proper balance. You have shown me this time and time again. And now, once again, enlightening us with the realization that our mind holds an incredible amount of power to help us become successful or thwart even our best attempts. I have been practicing the power of visualization for a while now, but had not been aware of the true power found in this technique until lately. Thanks so much for taking the time to point it out and help us to understand how to overcome those obstacles. Sincerely, Tami
Guest guest
Tami, Thank you. Yes, the mind is a very powerful thing. I am a believer who believes that we must use the power of the mind as a tool. I believe we must be able to pinpoint exactly what it is that we want so that we are sure that our world is what we want it to be. I pretty much have the opinion that if I don't control my mind, then someone else will control it for me. That goes for my image of my body too. If I control how I perceive my body and take charge of how I can change it, then I am in control of my body again and not the other way around. I think this point takes us back to the point you made in your story a while back of the beautiful woman at the checkout. She did not have the perfect body, yet, she had chosen to see life as the cup being half full instead of the cup half empty. I believe she had control of her perception of her body and had not let the media or anyone else tell her how to feel about her body. She was comfortable in her own skin. ~KarmaWould you like to know how much Protein, Carbohydrates and Fat your body needs? Guest guest
Wanda, I can't tell you what a difference the visualization makes. It, to me is the real key to your mind allowing your body to rid itself of the excess fat. I would love to help you with this, email me privately and we'll walk through this together! You can do it and I'd love to help you get there! Sincerely, Tami
Guest guest
Tami, Hi! First I want to say that I hope you are feeling so much better. All of our prayers are with you. I wish we could do more than that, but it's a little hard with so much distance between most of us. I have heard so much on this visualization thing. I tried it once or twice, but I find it really hard to get into. I guess I figure if I can't see the results, how can I visualize the results. It's kind of like a catch 22 with me. I need one to do the other. I have a good attitude about myself. I truly like who I am, even if I don't always like the way I look. But losing weight, albeit LL or any other exercise, is almost impossible. I've been working hard at this since the beginning of January and I have lost 5 pounds. But a little over a pound a month isn't some news worthy announcement. Not when my goal is to be about 30 pounds lighter. I stay positive about almost every other aspect of my life except this weight loss thing. If I could just manage to lose something that really looks like I'm doing something, I would be ecstatic. I keep looking and searching and trying just about anything that promises weight loss or toning up. I have more videos sitting on a shelf collecting dust than I care to mention. Do you really believe that visualization is the answer? That something as simple as believing you are skinny will help you to actually accomplish what is so sought after? Guest guest
Hi Wanda, I am trying to give my wrist and hand a rest and even canceled a trip out of town, but I saw this and just had to come to help you. I created one whole seminar on this topic, I call it Daydreaming your way to Success. I called it that because the word visualization can be so difficult for many, but we all know how to daydream. This is my theory. First everything you have or do, first begins as a thought in your head. What you focus on the most is what will become real. If you really believe in your mind that you are and always will be one way, that is the way you will probably be. I have worked for years and years with children thought to be dying of serious illness and disease teaching them to use daydreaming to focus on destroying the tumor or disease with games, such a pretending there is a rocket ship that blasts the tumor a bit at a time. The child could use this vision as a way to fall asleep. After doing these many times the child would have a miraculous recovery. There was one very highly publicized case in the Attitudinal Center near my home in Tiburon, where a child was found to have no traces of the tumor, instead there was some odd scar tissue that had formed behind where the tumor was, it looked as though something had been blasting away at it. His daydream was like a video game inside his head, he would see the rocket ships blasting into the tumor, shattering it, until it disappeared completely. Amazing story? Yes, and no. The yes, because the power of our minds is amazing. No, because this kind of thing happens a million times a day, to those who believe in their own God given abilities to use our minds as a tool to help us be healthier and happier in every possible way. As a child who was crippled, unable to get up from bed, I used daydreams to build a strong healthy body, in my mind. I had to see it there before I could believe enough to take the steps necessary to change the picture from what it was, to what it is today. At almost 56 years old I am one of the healthiest women I know. That goes against everything every one of my doctors told me when I was suffering, as a bedridden, sick child. How does this happen? You put the picture together in your mind of the way you really want your life to be, then you breathe life into it and make it real. Make it your own. Every day when you wake up you are creating your day, in your mind by what you expect to happen. What you allow inside your head is what will ultimately control your outcome. If you can learn to take a few moments to build your life in your mind, not as it is now, but as you would like it to be, you will see things happen that will astound you. To make this a little easier I often tell people to go find a photo of themselves when they were the size they want to be, or if you have never been there then find a photo of someone else who represents what you would like to look like. Of course you don't want a photo of a woman who is 6 feet tall , if you are only 5 foot 3", find what will actually work with your height and bone structure. Then take a photo of your head. Attach you head to the body and make a photo copy in black and white, because it looks more real. Now look at it, over and over many times each day until it starts to become your reality. This will make it so much easier for you to take the physical steps you need to reach your goal, like doing your Life Lift breaths, drinking your water, etc. You may want to go to my web sites and read through old newsletters when you have a few moments. There are some suggestions that may be helpful to you there. I have complete faith you can do this, we just have to convince your inner mind that you can too. Then we will really be watching the magic happen. Your mind is incredible. God gave you billions of brain cells and many tool so that you could have a wonderful life. Tap into them. You can do this! Guest guest
Rashelle, Thank you for taking the time to write, especially since it hurts your hand to do so. I always appreciate the help and the time it takes for someone to compose their thoughts and offer their best to help others. I understand what you are saying and I do believe the mind is capable of so many things. We can only begin to imagine what the mind could do if used to its fullest capacity. As hard as it is for me to believe that this can really work for me, I will give it the old college try. I will work hard at this, just like I'm trying the LL challenge and just trying to do the breathing to the best of my ability. Thank you as always for your help and I sincerely hope and pray that your hand recovers as quickly as you respond to all our questions and problems. May God bless.
