Guest guest
Naomi, Here in the US, many types can be tested. What follows is a reprint of post from earlier this month. http://www.athenadiagnostics.com Tests included now include 1A, 1B, (possibly 1C), HNPP, (genetic opposite of CMT 1A) Type X - all kinds, 2E, 2F and by now possibly 2D and B, but I am not sure about these. I know some other type testing for type 2's have been in research for some time now. Like I said, best to contact the lab, or have your physician call. I am also not sure to what degree these tests are 100% positive. There were some false positives for awhile. I also forgot about Type 4. Also this link at the Athena website shows a Type 2 test listed in the 'partial CMT - Axonal only'. I will add here, also possibly 1E and 1F since those are also neurofilament light chain genes, like 2E and 2F. ~ Gretchen
