He was born in 1943 and was diagnosed when he was a young teenager, so would have been around '56-'59... He says that it did help him some but that most doctors then didn't know what they were doing. :-) He also had back problems stemming from CMT and hereditary degenerative back disorder; he had to have surgery done on his back in Oct. 2002 Though he says they messed his back up worse, everyone in my family can see that he walks more upright than he has in a long time.
