Guest guest
Hi there, I guess I am a newbie, but I have thrown my 2 cents in already. Then, I realized I may not introduced myself. I had been a regular years ago at the MGH chat room and off and at CMT . So, if we haven't met yet, my name is Rhonda, I am 35 and I live in Northwestern Pennsylvania. I do not know yet what type of CMT I have yet, I was tested at Athena for 1a, 1b, and X with no matches. According to the symptoms listed, I am inclined to guess I am 4c but who knows. I have had scoliosis along with my CMT- had a spinal fusion at age 14. I also had both knees done to keep them from dislocating, but the left is just too bad now, there's not much holding it in place. I had a tendon transfer of the right foot, and a few other surgeries too. My CMT worsened during my first pregnancy- I had SEVERE morning sickness which required my gallbladder to be removed in my 5th month of preg. I was severely incapacitated after the birth, but slowly gained enough strength to walk and function. I now have trouble walking, worse with shoes on, and the fatigue is terrible. I have arthritis in both knees, but Synvisc did the trick! I have alot of joint pain whih nothing really seems to help. Anti-inflammatory meds have given me reflux disease now so I am pretty well stuck with hot baths for pain and massage therapy works temporarily. I have 2 little boys, , age 9, and Austin, 6 next week. They are so far strong and healthy (praise God!). I am a genealogist as a profession, concentration mostly on Swedish heritage. Anyway, that's me, glad to be here. Love, Rhonda
