Guest guest
Just a question about treating fatigue, if anyone out there knows the answer for sure. If doctor's prescribe B-12 injections for fatigue in MS patients, why aren't doctors prescribing vitamin B for CMT fatigue? I know vitamin B-6 (pyroxidine) can be toxic to CMT nerves when taken in megadoses (10 times the RDA), but why not try us on some B complex vitamin? I just bought a B-Complex vitamin yesterday and thought I'd try it myself. It is only the 100% RDA of all B vitamins, including Folate to aid vitamin B's effectiveness. I read that the B vitamins can help with nerve health, fatigue, and low mood--all of which have recently become more troublesome for me over the last month or so, despite my efforts with improved diet & water consumption, increased sleep, and regular exercise. I know that Feb in the northeast is typically blah for everyone, but usually if I take better care of myself I feel better. Recently though, I haven't been getting anywhere. Anyone know about B-12 for CMT, MS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? I'll post about my experience with B-Complex after I see my dr in March, or if I notice improvement beforehand. Thanks, All. Best wishes, Joyce S.
Guest guest
Joyce, When I was misdiagnosed with MS in the 70's I was given B12 shots but they did absolutely nothing. Just this past year I was rediagnosed with CMT. Again I had great fatigue and I started taking a liquid B complex-the B work better together than separately. I now have very few days of fatigue. Maybe 3 a month instead of every day. I started taking it in Sept. and it took at least 3 months. I had tried the tablets before but they did no good. The brand I take is from Eniva. I take a tablespoon each day and put it in my protein drink. Eniva is a multilevel org. but a person can get it without having the hassle of selling it. I suppose there are other brands. I got good results with this so never looked any farther. Everyone reacts differently so I don't have a clue as to whether it will help you or not. Also my neuropathy is much better though I still have some. I am also diabetic I am not endorsing this company-just telling you my experience. Guest guest
Dear Joyce, I have been taking B-complex vitamins for 10 years now. I honestly believe I could not go a day without them. I very rarely suffer from fatigue associated with CMT and will take it the rest of my life!! I have been taking 3 per day for these 10 years because B-complex is not a vitamin that is stored, it is used very quickly in the body. Stress, smoking, alcohol, even pollution cause depletion of this vitamin. I take 1 w/breakfast,1w/lunch and 1/dinner. Good luck! Guest guest
I have Chronic Fatigue and it has never been treated with B12. I have done Natural things with a doc who was in our area. I did feel better. He moved and now no regular doc around here knows much. Helen
