Tom,

Oh ouch, and so sorry about the kidney stones. I had no idea Diamox

could cause them. I have been taking Elavil (amitriptyline) for

tremors for about 15 years with good results. It really takes a full

3 months or so for the dose of Elavil to kick in, but oh boy did I

notice a remarkable difference in 4 days. I slept better too. I also

swear it helps me in other ways too. There is another medication, a

cousin of Elavil, called Pamelor (nortriptyline) that I understand

helps with tremors. Then there are Primadone and Mysoline. I tried

Inderal for 2 days and thought my heart was going to jump out of my

skin...no, it is the Elavil for me!

Hope this helps. I know what those tremors can be like. Hope you can

find a replacement medication soon.

~ Gretchen

PS. Elavil sometimes makes my mouth dry - I do drink a couple of

litres of water each day, and get hydrated at the same time. When I'm

on a deadline or heavily into a creative project, I chew sugarless

gum like crazy.
