Guest guest
Marilyn, That would be fun. Having water grains to play with. My blood sodium level is extremely high, and I don't eat anything with added sodium in it. I am on the SCD diet. So, all my food is fresh made, and I don't add salt when I cook. So, right now I am not drinking herbal or real teas - as they reduce sodium levels in the blood. This is so my doctor can do some blood work. I've heard that you can make a ginger water kefir thing with the water grains. Since I cannot drink water straight (makes me vomit) it would give me an alternative to drink. Right now I am on a very watered down fruit juice and distilled water mix. I have a juicer so I can make fresh juice - but, it is still getting boring. Jazz -- Re: juice kefir - making vinegar I bet they formed spontaneously in sugar water. Some day ask me about my water grain in my milk experiment. I think I know the origin of milk grains. Water grains. And, do you have any? Oh, yes. Lots and lots. Want some dried ones? I can send today yet.Marilyn --

Some people dilute it half with water. Also I > think coconut water/juice is OK too??? Coconut water as is. Also would I need to add > additional sugar to the juices? I'm thinking not. Not necessary or desirable. I've also heard that you can put milk grains in coconut milk. Should I > dare? Go ahead but always do your experiments with extra kefir grains in case your experiment backfires. Or in this case, you will be sacrificing some because you realize they won't do well if you try to put them back into milk. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. Some stuff is common sense. Always have a back up jar in case any of your experiments do something negative to the kefir grains. Marilyn
