Guest guest
, I've had four pregnancies. I didn't have the numbness that you speak of, however pregnancy in general puts a huge strain on your body, especially your spine. Perhaps you have a pinched nerve in your shoulder that is causing the problem. I had such sensations in my legs because of sciatica. Once the bunny was born, I felt wonderful. Do you have opportunities to swim? When I swam, the buoyancy helped to lift the weight from my body and it was positively dreamy. Guest guest
Hi I we are about the same age, so I am suspecting that it could be the extra body strain of preganancy. When I was pregnant with my son 6 yrs ago, I found it was my legs that would go numb. I think that because I was so large when I was at the stage you are at now, that it put extra strain on my upper thights and knees to be on my feet for too long. After he was born and some of the extra weight came off, the numbness in my legs was far less frequent. Jenn
Guest guest
I usually just lurk on this list, but since I have experience here, I thought I'd jump in. I have 7 children and have been pregnant more times than I care to admit. But each pregnancy had its different issues. One I did have really bad hand trouble and even went to wearing carpal tunnel wrist braces at night otherwise my hands would be totally numb in the morning. It went away after the baby was born. I also had huge issues with my ankles turning during all my pregnancies, because my ligaments would be so loose during the end of the pregnancy and I would turn my ankles and fall easily. The dr. said that when your body gets ready to delivery your ligaments soften for easier delivery and it effects all ligaments. So be careful of falls near the end. Again, it goes away after delivery. I had lots of pinched nerves in the legs, with numbing, but I suspect that all women go through that. Lying down usually helps that. I have to say, that I think I made it through the preganancy phase of my life without much change in my CMT. I wish you the best of luck. in Colorado, USA
Guest guest
Again, everyone thank you so much for all the advice. It's a little odd being out there and not finding out a lot about CMT and pregnancy. For the most part, I haven't fallen too much (only four times which I believe is a record for me), but this numbness bit has started only in the past month/six weeks or so. We are naming the baby Henry, after way too many relatives. Again, thanks everyone. Best Wishes,
