Shapes of kefir grains

The " classic look " for a kefir grain seems like a semi-dense translucent

glob (and I use " glob " in a positive sense...I think they are cute!).

Some of my grains are a spread-out flat mass, still having the nice

white color. Kefir taste is the test, I suppose, and mine is great!

Does the occasional flat-grain mean anything, or just some diversity in

the crowd? :-)
