Lynn,

I've done the same thing so many times. This week I sent an

article to this list about drug users using embalming fluid

for a high! It wasn't supposed to be sent here LOL! I go

on pretty regular rants about the drugs the kids are using

today. All of us are hurt by the stiff regulations on pain

meds we need because of those that abuse them. It's not

fair.

I hope you find a dress, and I hope it's on sale! I too am

only a sale shopper.

hugs,

a

Hi Liz,

Whipple is the removal of part of the pancretitis, small intestines, bile

duct, and sometimes some of the stomach. Than resectioning everything back

up together. I came about in the 1930 to help cancer victims with mostly

pancreatic cancer. I have read that when it was first used many people

died. But with modern medicine and technology the mortality rate is less

than 1%. I have a stricture of the common bile duct. There are only two

ways to fix this. The first is to put in stents to hold the duct open,

unfortunely with this I would have to have ERCP'S every two months for the

rest of my life. Every time I have and ERCP I go into a pancreatitic

attack. If you have too many of these you will become a diabetic. I have

come to believe that maybe I go into an attack because the medicine they

use or the dye doesn't agree with me. That is just my thought though.

If the bile duct would stay open this would not be needed. The other

procedure is a whipple. It's real name is pancreaticoduodenectomy. I am

told the best Dr. to do the surgery is Dr. to, who is going to do mine.

People come to him from all around the world.

Thanks to , and all her research I have been able to learn a lot about

the surgery.

I had some people here in florida about 5 or 6 years ago from one of

the other CML groups. we had a great time meeting up with each

other. I wouldn't mind hosting another reunion here, but am more than

willing to go to another place in the country. I have never been to

Vegas. I do love Portland, Or, and have been there every year since

2001.

Hi ,

My daughter just sent an application to Univ. of Tenn.  She wants a change in

atmosphere for a semester and she loves country music so she's looking into

Nashville TN.  We live in Iowa.

Just had to say Hi when I saw that you are in TN.  :)

God's Blessings,

Jackie S.
