Guest guest
Hi everyone. I just joined the group and wanted to introduce myself. My name is sarah, I'm 21 years old, and I live in Wisconsin. I'm currently a junior in college majoring in art therapy. I hope to get my master's degree after graduating. I was diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Demeyinlating Polyneuropathy when I was 13 years old. After treatment didn't work, they did a nerve and muscle biopsy and said they thought I had CMT when I was 17 years old. The doctors aren't sure which type I have though, since no one in my family has any neuromuscular problems. I may be going to the Mayo Clinic this summer to see if they can find anything else out. My symptoms do slowly get worse, but they seem to have reached a plateau. I wear AFOs, and have hand splints to wear at night. Like most of the other people I have met, I concentrate on what I can do, rather than what I can't. I can still do my artwork, and this helps me through many hard times. That's why I decided to go into the art therapy field. I found this group while searching through , and decided it would be a great place to discuss things pertaining to CMT. I'm very glad I found it, and look forward to learning a lot from everyone. ~*~~*~
