Guest guest
March 16, 2004 Motion DNA Completes BioTrainer Ahead of Schedule SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 16, 2004--Today, Motion DNA Corp. announced the completion of a newly developed free motion tracking technology. The BioTrainer was demonstrated to company executives by Bodine, Motion DNA senior vice president of technology. The room was filled with cheers and smiles from those in attendance, including Motion DNA President Zig Ziegler. Developed weeks ahead of schedule, the BioTrainer utilizes software developed by Motion DNA for the InterSense IC-2 and IC-3 motion tracking cubes. Unlike other current technologies, the BioTrainer does not require clients to move within a magnetic field, making it the first of its kind as the world's only true free motion tracking device for physical therapy. Designed as a biofeedback tool, the new BioTrainer will allow physical therapists to conduct rehabilitation with fewer limiting restrictions. The therapist can provide less direct supervision to the patient, with the assurance that exercises are being conducted correctly. The new technology allows patients to self-correct inaccurate movements, as a tone rings from the BioTrainer when the exercise is performed to the correct specifications set by the therapist. Said Ziegler, " This technology is essential to physical therapists and their patients. With the BioTrainer, therapists can make certain that the exercises are being performed by the patient in the correct manner, every time. " Ziegler also stated, " In a typical therapy session, patients conduct many of their exercises under partial supervision. The BioTrainer will act as an additional employee for a fraction of the cost. The BioTrainer immediately lets the patient and therapist know if the exercise is being performed correctly and efficiently. " Through the end of the second quarter, use of the BioTrainer is only available from Motion DNA as a service. Beginning next week, approximately 10,000 units will be available for sale and delivery in the third quarter of 2004. Motion DNA will also continue to use its current technology, the Polhemus Fastrak and Liberty, offering full diagnostic assessments for sports and fitness. The BioTrainer will be demonstrated at next week's International Health, Racquet and Sports Club Association annual convention and trade show in Las Vegas. More than 10,000 health club owners, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and medical professionals are expected to visit the trade show at the annual convention, seeking the latest tools available for health and fitness. Motion DNA Corp. provides diagnostic testing for medical professionals and sports organizations. The company's patented software and hardware systems have been used globally by some of the world's leading health care practitioners, biomechanical research institutions and professional sports agencies. Motion DNA's biomechanical analyses and detailed reports provide its customers and consumers with solutions for preventing injuries, identifying physical limitations, diagnosing pre-existing injuries related to biomechanics, and improving physical performance levels.
