Guest guest
I just received milk kefir grains on Wednesday and have already made a couple of batches--very mild but they definitely work! My question is about what I should do with my kefir grains when I am gone for two days. You see, I work a " weekend package " job where I work 2 12 hour shifts every weekend, and since it is quite a distance from my home, I leave on Saturday morning but don't return until Sunday night. I was wondering if I can leave my kefir unattended (so to speak--my husband is home but he doesn't want to mess with it in case somemthing happens to it) from Saturday morning until Monday morning. I am planning on changing the milk before I leave Saturday morning but wondered if maybe I should add extra milk? Any and all comments are always welcomed! Thanks in advance--Marie
Guest guest
Hi Marie, I would add extra milk and try to find a spot 50 to 60 degrees. It's those cold 35 to 40 degree refrigerators that really set them back.
