Guest guest
I tried the search engine but am not having luck with it, so hopefully this hasn't been posted before. I'm interested in getting kefir but am hesitant because I'm not sure how well it would respond to store bought milk (not easy for me to get raw). I'm wondering if anyone's used/tried milk from the store and could recommend a good brand. Thanks, Leigh VA
Guest guest
Hi, I have been using Dean's Whole Milk Vitamin D because it says their milk comes from farmers who pledge not to use artificial growth hormones. It is homogenized...don't know if that's not good. My grains have been growing though. I don't have access to raw milk either. Guest guest
Thanks for replying. I will look for the brand, though I have to wonder if Walmart, Kroger's, or Kmart carries the product. Those are the only stores I'm familiar with at the moment (just moved to the VA area). Where do you buy your milk? Guest guest
I use the springdale milk from Kroger, it's the regular cheapest gallon they have. at the moment I can't be spending $10 a gallon for raw milk or take the long trip to get it. I wouldn't worry about store bought gallon milk, it has worked fine for me, I have to eat some grains every 3-4 days because they are growing. - > > I tried the search engine but am not having luck with it, so hopefully > this hasn't been posted before. Guest guest
In regards to using store bought milk, I got my grains about 3 weeks ago, I have been buying the cheap brand of whole milk from my local Wal- Mart. I have had good results. I've also noticed that I'm losing weight . I drink about 2 cups a day mixed with fruit and Splenda. My daughter and I are both diabetic , We are very pleased with the grains. I bought them on ebay. Janet
