Guest guest
Friday morning I was so excited about the vitamin C I decided to call my ortho to tell him the good news. He was in surgery so I left a message. A few hours later my husband and I were deciding if we should tidy the yard up for Easter or clean the garage out. Not a second later the phone rings. Spencer is laying on the side of the road with a broken leg. Same Leg , Same place as the break in November. (When he was hit by a car.) This time he and a friend were riding bikes. The friends foot hit spencer's wheel down he went. So in the car we drive to the ortho. No traffic so we got there fast in about 45 mins. This time Spencers break is worse. But the doctor said it would heal stronger. The doctor tests my hands with that grip tool thing. I am a 5 on the left hand and a 7 on the right. M husband was 136 on the left and 138 on the right. Ok I am a weakling. The doctor said something good is happening to my feet if I can move them better. He suggested that I was just vitamin C deficient to begin with and thats why I see improvement. He dosen't think french medical research on anything is credible. But he did say he would look up the study and test me when I bring Spencer in. So now back to Spencer . Can you believe it happend again?!
Guest guest
Shellie- SO happy to hear you and Mo are doing so well. All of you will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Let me know if there is anyting you need and I will try to get it to you ASAP. Hope your strength keeps up. I am so happy for all of you! JenShellie Grant <shelliegrant@...> wrote: Hey ya'll, I am so glad to have email access. is with me and playing with the food group action figures. He's loud and busy and is "hey Mom" ing me to death. Glad to see some things never change no matter what the location. Moriah continues to do well. They took out her IV today and she walked to the playroom with assistance. It was hard work, but a great first run at it. She is just generally sore. Her pain meds are down to Motrin and Lortab. I think her muscles are tight from being in bed. Her right side often hurts because the Ribs are there and causing it to be straight and more stretched out as opposed to being crunched from her curve. Her bump also hurts because I think it may be moving more to the center (like I thought it would) instead of being so much on the left. Once the third rib is in on the upper left side, she should be fairly balanced. Once she can stand up for xrays we should be able to get new measurements. Today they scheduled some things they forgot to tellus about. Right in the middle of breakfast we went to have a Ct done. Oh, before we woke up they came to do and EKG. All that is left is the xrays and and Echo which they can do from our room. Over the weekend Moriah is supposed to work on getting out of bed to go to the bathroom and to the playroom. They have a tiny wheelchair she is borrowing if her legs get tired and she needs to drive back to her room. That is dangerous, because being able to drive the chair herself is a novelty. Sneaky girl, she's supposed to walk!! Thanks to allof you sending letters and packages. Moriah is on 6th floor room 6425. I think we will be here a week more? All she has to do is keep eating and work on moving around better. It would be wonderful if we could fly home around the same time and go home. Thanks also for praying against infection. Her lungs sound great. Our babysitter for MWF when and go home has hurt her back, so we don't have anyone for those days if they go home before us. Pray that God continues to handle all these details. It feels so good not to stress. WE love you all so much. Can't wait to get home and get recovered. Keep the emails coming. I should be back online on Monday. Love you all, Shellie __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hopefully she'll be feeling an *awful* lot better nice and soon if things have started to get moving. After my revision it was 13 days before I had a proper bowel movement, and once I was able to it very much felt like I spent the majority of the next 2 days in the toilet! I certainly felt a heck of a lot better afterward, so fingers crossed for also. And also now that she's got the gastro guy working on things as well, that should help too ) Although I guess it's unlikely, I'll keep fingers crossed that she perks up so much over the next day or so that she is able to go home. titch-- The wages of sin are death, but by the time taxes are taken out, it's just sort of a tired feeling - a Poundstone

Guest guest
Oh, , I can't tell you how RELIEVED that non-stop BM had me! I know how important they are, and how good they can feel when needed. But I'm really sorry for , that she's still not out of the woods. Prayers continue. Sharon [ ] Friday Update Just spoke with Bob - last night had to be one of the worst nights she's had so far. Jusr restless, anxious, crying in pain, nausea and vomiting all night long until they finally calmed her with some Valium IV. The Fellow came by this morning (Bob calls him Dr. Look-n-Leave)and Bob asked how they could discharge her and send her to a nursing home when she's so sick - he was told not to worry, she wouldn't be going anywhere. Until she could walk, take oral meds and have regular BM's, she'll stay right there. And Dr. Hu sent in a consult for a Gastro man who came and got some new x-rays and says things are improving. She also has a problem with her left leg - it had been weak but has improved, and now she has like nerve pain in it. They wanted to give her Neurontin but she can't take meds by mouth, so they're going to change her pain meds all around. Take the fentynal patch off, no more dilaudid, and start her on methadone as it has something for nerve pain in it also. The Gastro guy wasn't too happy about that, but oh well. The GOOD new is that, as we were speaking, let loose with a BM and it was non-stop. Just kept coming and coming. So that could be a GOOD thing. So Merry Christmas to in the hospital.......she was so concerned about that prior to surgery - she wanted to BE HOME for Christmas! :::::sigh:::::~~

Guest guest
This is GOOD NEWS!!! I spoke to Bob last night myself and he said things changed not day to day, but hour to hour!! Yesterday and last evening things weren't so good. I just hope that this is the breakthrough and it will all be IMPROVEMENT from now on!! I prayed last night for her that a miracle would happen...poor needs a break!! They had her on Fentanyl patch??? That stuff is HORRIBLE.....I would describe it as death warmed over!!! I plan on telling them to NEVER put me on it. I already know I can't tolerate it...and certainly not after a MAJOR SURGERY!!!! That drug probably can't be taken by very many people....as far as I'm concerned it should be taken off the market. (but maybe a few can tolerate it).
