Guest guest
Can anyone spare any water kefir grains? I am paying $15 per cup plus your shipping and will take all your extras. Please write privately if you have any water grains for me. Thanks, Marilyn marilynjarz@...
Guest guest
I have tried dried apples and didn't like the taste and also used black cherry juice and it tasted rotten after it was kefired. So I stick with my tried and true formula, about 1 Tablespoon of organic flame raisins and 3 pieces of sugared dried ginger in my quart jar with 2 Tablespoons sugar and it tastes almost like ginger ale without all the sweetness. I use brown jars that originally had greens powder in them and they work better than in clear jars for me. I also put the strained water kefir in glass jars with tight lids and let them sit in the refrigerator until they have a nice fizz to them. I've always used RO water and have not added calcium or soda to mine and they work great. I've even kept them in sugar water in the refrigerator for as long as 2 months and take them out and they start working within 2-3 days. Hopefully that doesn't kill the probiotics off doing that. Mine don't seem to grow too quickly which is fine with me because I have more than enough for myself anyways. I also like to eat about a teaspoon of them right after I strain them and they still have the ginger flavor in them. I bought grains from someone when I was on Dom's site and they were small rice size grains to start with. I also purchased some from Marilyn and they have a completely different look to them. Hers were almost opaque looking and a lot larger than my first ones. Does anyone know if there are different type of water grains? Jo ------------------------------- Different type of water grains? Yes, stressed and healthy. LOL Big and growing well = thriving water water grains, not stressed by cold temps or lack of minerals Marilyn
