Invitation for Questions at Special Sessions of the International AIDS

Conference 2004 Leadership Program

Get involved, use this opportunity to address a world leader and send us

your questions.

With “Meet the Leaders”, the new, interactive sessions from the Leadership

Program at the International AIDS Conference in Bangkok, you can.

2004 is shaping up to be a year of unprecedented opportunities to fight

HIV/AIDS and also a year that exemplifies the epidemic’s continued growth.

What can you do to urge the leaders “at the top” to put aside political,

personal and social differences and continue fighting together?

Ask them.

For the first time ever, this year’s XV International AIDS Conference will

feature a full program focusing on leadership in the fight against

HIV/AIDS. The Leadership Program will bring global attention to the role

and concrete contribution of leadership – from all sectors, and in all

parts of the world.

“Meet the Leaders” a special series of open-house forums will gather world

leaders from across sectors, governments, industries, sciences,

entertainment, and media to answer specific questions about the current

state of the fight against HIV/AIDS and the tangible changes leadership can

make to this struggle.

The Leadership Program Committee now invites your questions on the fight

against HIV/AIDS for these special sessions. Some of the leaders answering

your questions will be:

Graca Machel (Leadership Program Patron)

HRH Rattana-Devi Norodom, (Chief of International Relations Dept,

Govt. of Cambodia)

Gere (Founder of the Gere Foundation, USA)

Zackie Achmat (Chairperson, Treatment Action Campaign, South Africa)

Dr. Alongkot Dikkapanya (Dramaraksananivesana Project, Wat Phra Baht

Nam Phu, Thailand)

S. Fauci, M.D. (Director of National Institute of Allergy and

Infectious Diseases, USA)

Kate (Founder of Int’l Community of Women with HIV/AIDS)

Hank McKinnell (Chairman of the Board and CEO of Pfizer Pharm. Group)

Collectively, we know how to reverse this global epidemic and can only do

so through strong, united leadership -- leadership that must come from each

sector of society and every level, from local villages to parliamentary

congresses.

Mail your questions

to: <mailto:leadership@...>leadership@.... Each

question will be read and considered for use in the open-house forum

sessions, “Meet the Leaders” on Monday, July 12th, and Wednesday, July 14th

at the International AIDS Conference in Bangkok, Thailand.
