travelling with kefir grains

Hi. Very new to making kefir. I am hoping to get some grains soon and

want to get my parents started on this as well. I will be flying all

afternoon to go see them. What is the best way to pack them? Will they

survive the trip?

Or should I just try to source the grains in Charlotte, NC locally?
