I am taking 8000-10,000MG a day which is a LOT of Vit C considering that I don't

weigh very much. I'm taking 1000MG tablets, 2-3 of them 3 times per day with

meals. (I wonder if a different form of Vit C or ascorbic acid would be more

beneficial??)

Tuesday will be the 2 week mark and I'm not sure if I can detect any changes,

however, I'm still recovering from my broken and sprained foot that is

healing very slowly. I wasn't able to walk for a month and a half and am trying

to

regain some strength from that. In the two weeks that I have been walking again

I

have had a number of falls and consequently sprained my other foot. :-(

But, it's good to be up on my own two feet again, even if I am weaker than I was

before.

I should say that genetic testing for me came back negative and the doctors

don't

know what type of CMT I have and are not sure if it's affecting the myelin or

the axon

but they 'think' it may be the axon that is damaged. If that's the case, I

don't think

the Vit C will benefit my nerves. Hasn't the testing shown it to be effective

only with

myelin damage?

Now that the snow is FINALLY gone here in Northern MI I'm hoping to be able to

get

outside more and have been looking at adult tricycles to be able to bike ride

again.

My balance is too poor for 2 wheels and I'm wondering if any of you have one of

these

trikes or have seen them. I have seen them equipped with either electric or gas

assisted motors and I'm thinking that might be nice to allow me to go further

and

have some back up power if I get too exhausted.

: I have also told that I have type 2 CMT because of the Nerve conduction

studies that have been done. I don't know about the Vit. C benefit either but

have an appointment with an alternative medicine physician to check out my

levels of Vit. C in my system and see if it works on type 2--nothing lost to

try. I have seen the three wheeled trikes but the cost was a little too much

for the amount that I would use it so I opted to use a stationary bike for

riding as I can no longer ride a regular bike either. Do you use any assistive

device (cane, walker) to assist with your balance? I am currently using a cane

and it truly helps especially at night. Good luck with your strength building.
