Guest guest Posted June 30, 2004 Report Share Posted June 30, 2004 Position Announcement The CAPS/Mumbai HIV-STI Prevention Study, a collaborative project between LTMG Hospital and the University of California, San Francisco announces the availability of the following post: Assistant Project Manager Summary: The Assistant Project Manager reports to the Project Manager, and is responsible for fiscal management, office management and administration, human resources and staff management, & purchasing for a large HIV-STI research study based at Sion Hospital. This project has 5 key components: administration, data & research, clinical, counseling & behavioral, and laboratory. The Assistant Project Manager facilitates logistics across these 5 areas. Duties: · Assist Project Manager in overall administration of a complex public-health research study. · Assume overall responsibility for budgeting, banking, accounting, petty cash management, and other financial duties. · Oversee functioning of central office, and daily logistics at 2 clinical field-sites. · Assist in hiring, training, managing, and evaluating a diverse staff of 35+ individuals. · Organize staff and administrative meetings. · Prepare written reports. · Act as a key participant in weekly project management team meetings. · Communicate by email, phone, and in-person in a leadership fashion with local and US Investigators, and LTMG and BMC officials. Requirements: · Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences or management · 3 years working in a supervisory role (coordinator, manager, or administrator) for a health, social service, or research project. · Ability to understand complex study protocols and to communicate these to a diverse staff. · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. · Good computer skills including Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel. · Fluency in English and Hindi/Marathi · Good communication and diplomacy skills. · Willingness and ability to assume a leadership role as part of a team. · Demonstrated sensitivity to vulnerable populations including.
