Guest guest
Hello le, It is nice to know your name No, no reason to get am EMG every 6 months. CMT can show up on a test at any age - as much as I hate the EMG, I have only had 2 in my life - which spans 51 years now. I was diagnosed when I was 10, by the time I was 15, I had the first EMG. Just had the most recent on in 1999. Don't let the docs 'over-test' you...go out and have some fun. When I was 16 I too saw alot of docs - my parents were looking for a cure - all I got was more 'possible diagnoses' (even Frederich's!) after testing, it turned out I didn't have anything else, just CMT. I wish I had the internet then and I wish someone had helped to empower me and teach me to stand up to my docs and refuse tests that just created strain, stress and worry. (I learned this later!) I'm really glad you've joined and hope we are helpful to you here. Gretchen
Guest guest
Thank You Gretchen! My parents have been doing the same thing, looking for a cure. And instead we get several different possible diagnoses'. And all I'd really like to know is what I Do have. And I have been overtested, I mean I had 3 EMGs in less than 2 years. I'm glad I have this new doctor though, he agrees I've been poked and proded too much already. p.s.- My name is le but my little brother says, D.L. le
