Guest guest
Hi Kat

Well... depends doesn't it!!!! Depends on how you got your CP!! If it's caused by mal-tracking I'd say nope not arthritis, rather biomechanics problem. If it's caused by over-use, jogging, gym etc, then I think it classifies as " secondary arthritis " ie it's not the disease, but it is wear and tear... and wear and tear is classified as arthritis. If it just kind of happened all by itself then maybe it's arthritis. But that's probably unlikely at your age? Sorry... that was the best I could do!

Joe

Guest guest
hi kat, i think i have an answer for you.cp is not a form of arthritis, unless it is not caught in time like me, im 35 and one year ago diaonosed with cp on nov 3 00 had a double arthoscpoic done both knees, have arthritis, right knee is severe because the cartile is full thickness loss.doctor says had this for years, but didnt know it so couldnt cauch it in time.deneration of cartile is arthritis.also have it in left knee, right knee hurts all the time.cant do much any more.im waiting on a proceeder just approved they have to put plastic or something under my knee cap,not sure yet dont have alot of details yet still waiting on them. but i had a lot of doctors tell me nothing wrong for 2 years untill i found this doctor hes great, and answers all my questions. i had mri said nothing wrong.if you are not getting the ansewrs you need please keep going.untill you find a doctor that will tell you the answers you need.im not sorry i found out the truth, just sorry it was too late to stop.doctor says my cp is very bad.my doctor cant understand how this happened to me at my age, neither can i . i keep looking back for answers but cant come up with any how this happened. no falls, no auto accident. doctor at first said that could be the only way this could have got this bad, but they didnt have anything to do with it at all.hope i have helped you. i have to go for syn-visc injections to see if that will help untill the doctor can do this surgery. have had cortisone injections dont help at all, im on vicodin & darvocet. save your knees no matter what it take, this is very depressing for me. have a 2 year old son to take care of , hes great but its so hard chasing him around. my life has changed so much after this problem for the worst.im trird of this pain just wont go away. i hope i didnt bore you.just cant handle this pain anymore. take care of your self hope to hear back from you

purpledg
Guest guest
Hi Kat.

You know, my shoulders crackle too. My dad has arthritis. I'm 30 and considered to have osteoarthritis. I guess they only call it that for us old folks. I think Chodromalacia and osteoarthritis are the same thing. CP is osteoarthritis of the knee, maybe. It is confusing, but I imagine we are at higher risk for arthritis all over if it is already in our family and in our knees!

I remember before I was diagnosed with CP, for about a year my knees made terrible crackling noises going up stairs and doing certain exercises. But the doctor and my boss(I teach exercise for a living) told me as long as it didn't hurt, it was nothing to worry about. It didn't hurt at the time but look what it turned into. So I don't know what the answer is!

AAAAAHHHH!!!
Jeannine
