Guest guest
I forgot to ask this. Sometimes I hear people say " a neuropathy is a neuropathy is a neuropathy, " meaning that the source of the neuropathy isn't going to make a difference in its presentation. However, I noticed, Gretchen, that you stressed that cmt is a neuromuscular disease, not just a neuropathy. Obviously our muscles are affected by the affected nerves but is that not true of other forms of peripheral neuropathy? I'm very interested in this question. I know that some of us are more affected by the motor nerves and some by the sensory nerves. Is that part of the issue? Incidently, I have type 2 and I am more affected by sensory nerves than the motor nerves. Do you know if that is generally tre of type 2 or not? I can do lots of things for a short time but I do experience a great deal of pain. I mentioned recently that Voc Rehab doesn't want to help me because the neurologist said that my fixed deficits are mild. I think he's measuring strength on one try and not endurance, which is actually a bigger problem in everyday life. Thanks for the wealth if information, Gretchen and everyone.
