Guest guest
Ok, I've got a quick question for the group. Tuesday I will be going to my neurologist to ask a expert*sarcastic laugh*. But I've noticed before I have any joint pain, or swelling in my hands or ankle that my skin turns bright red and I experience a buring sensation similar to the feeling of a chemical burn, and yes, I've actual excperiences that too, and that was not fun. My mother thinks it's the neuropathic pain, and father who has cmt too is still in denial about me having it so asking him is like asking a brick wall. So I was just wondering does that happen to anyone else? Like I said Tuesday I'll ask my doctor, but I'd like to know if this is something simi normal or something I should worry about? Because some how its kinda freaky. But I always know know when my joints are acting up. I've got to go, my daughter has decided to get into something she shouldn't have. Guest guest
Hi : I too experience a burning sensation, especially on the top of my foot. The neurologist I have indicated the burning sensation was a symptom related to my CMT. I was already taking Neurontin (Gabapentin). He put me on 25mg of Amitriptyline to take at bedtime along with the 400 mg of Neurontin I was taking at bedtime. This works for me, but I suggest it may not work for everyone. I think I have a very good neurologist who knows CMT very well. He is a very " learned " man. Quite often I send him information on different research programs and their results. He truly loves getting this from me. I thank Gretchen for this. Gretchen keeps all of us, who belong to the family, updated on the latest CMT research information and much more. Good luck seeing your doctor. Regards, Beckingham Corporate Nice Guy

Guest guest
Hi , My neurologist said what yours did and up my neurontin dosage. I'm a little put out with him though. I brought up other issues and he pushed the away. He said the neurontin will help with my pain, and my depression. Yeah, neurotin the magic cure all. I'm a little upset, but what do I know, he's the one who went to medical school. Not me.
