Guest guest
ann, This is my experience. My orthotics felt funny at first too. That is because they are correcting the foot gait. About the falling forward thing - I never had that - but this could be the heel is too high - also, where my major support is is under the arches. Do you have support there? If not, and you only have a raised heel, this could be causing you to 'feel' going forward. Or the heel is too high. I wore mine about 5 hours a day at first, but I could really tell the difference in my walk. I also went in for some adjustments, especially in the metartarsal area of my foot. When you walk while wearing them, your heel should hit the ground first, then your toes. Like I said, maybe a few minor adjustments at first might need to be made. Another thought - what shoes are you wearing your orthotics in? Are the shoes on the S1 or S2 last? Turn the shoe over - place a ruler from the heel to the toe. Can you draw a straight line? This would be a S1 last. An S2 last shoe will not be as straight and have a slight curve to it. Stefan, my orthotist recommended this SI last type of shoe to wear with my orthotics. Before I discovered New Balance, I wore , which he first recommended. Gretchen
Guest guest
Hi , You are doing much better with your orthotics than I did with AFOs. I couldn't even walk in the ones that I had. I came home so mad that they didn't work I came home looked at them for a week or so then threw them away.
