Hi there,from the UK

My first posting, I

have been suffering from knee probs for over 4 years,

last year I had a lateral release, and now a year on I

am in a worse state than I was before. I have had

physio for months, reflexogy, and finally my consultant

told me there is nothing else can be done. I can

hardly walk 20 yards sit for long periods, kneeling is

impossible, well I am sure I don't have to go into the other

dam painful details. I am unable to work so now going

to try and get a Disability Benefit. But I still do

not know what my condition is, my GP has only what

was diagnosed 3 years ago. Well that enuff of my

story, just wanted to say hi

Gordo

Hi Gordo, Sorry to hear you're having such a

tough time. I'm in the U.S. and have no idea what a

consultant's role is in the U.K. Sounds like you need someone

willing to work harder for you. Could your pain be

arthritis? Why did you have the lr in the first place? Keep

smiling, jan

hi jan,

A consultant, is specalist at

hospital in fact he was the most qualified guy in my area.

The reason for Op was Patella/tendernitis linked with

Osgood schlatters disease. I have had approx 10 months

physio, ultrasound, reflexology, and various medications.

The only way I get any relief from pain is total rest

coupled with P/killers.
I am waiting to go for a

second opinion at another hospital out of my area, which

I hope will come up with something else.
My life

has had to change completely, I used to be a painter

decorater, keen sportsman, hiker and loved DIY... All the

things I cannot do now. I was always interested in

computers now I am teaching myself DTP/web design and

maintanence. In the hope of being able to earn a living at

these.
Depression is another enemy of mine just lately, having a

battle some days simply to get up and even eat. But the

more active I keep my mind the easier it

gets.

Thanx for the mail, the computer is the source for most

of my contact.

Take care

Gordo
