I have had good experiences with the MDA clinics in Houston Texas and in

Memphis Tennesee. I believe a lot has to do with the doctors they have on

staff.

The most I have ever waited for a doctor is one hour and it was explained

there was an emrgency since on of the patients went into a seisure, the doctor

went with this patient in the ambulance to make sure he was okay and then came

back to the clinic. MDA has been very helpful in getting all my test run

except they don't do a DNA test for me. but everthing else they pay for

including AFOs (unfortunately the place that made the made them wrong). The

doctors are happy to help me get my neurontin free and that is about 500 a month

they save me .

I hope you keep trying. call and discuss your problems with the

lady who sets up your appointment. tell her what happened and that your

prefer to have time to talk to the doctor more and see if you can be scheduled

on a

none children day.

Both in Texas and in Memphis they have days where almost

everyone they see is adults. also in Memphis I can call and talk to the nurse

that accompanies my neurologist to the MDA clinic. I figure three tries and

you are out. also don't forget you can call the MDA head quarters in Arizona

to get further help. Cathleen in Arkansas

Of course they do. Our office still thinks I think they paid the full

$2,000, when they only paid $220.

Most MDA offices will help pay for things Rx'd by an MDA clinic doctor. Some

I got my scooter from the MDA loan closet. Thank God for it! Without it I

could never make it to go to the mall or for walking

long distances. My Dr. at the MDA clinic is very good....she works with both my

son and I....and stays on top of things much better

than my family dr. In fact, when we get tests done, no matter for which dr. I

always have results sent to her too. We hear from her

with the results quicker then from the dr. that ordered the tests to begin with.

So thank goodness for MDA....and our Dr. there.

Hugs,

Sherry
