Guest guest
Jim, Although I haven't posted in quite sometime, I felt compelled to respond to your post. I am 44 years old, and in November 1999 and in February 2000 my orthopedic surgeon performed soft tissue surgery on both of my feet. My arches were lowered, my Achilles tendons were lengthened and the front of my foot was pulled up. For me, having surgery has been a true blessing. Yes, my calves atrophied to some degree, but they filled back out. I did not have to have physical therapy following my surgeries. The level of pain following the surgery was not as bad as I had thought it would be. I do recommend using an orthopedic surgeon who is familiar with CMT. Having this surgery was the best thing I have done!!! If I can answer any questions you might have, please feel free to contact me. R.
