Guest guest
Hello Pam, I'm glad you are seeing an orthopedic surgeon who is familiar with CMT; that is very important. My condition prior to surgery...my ankles rolled out (doctors say in) and I a very difficult time walking barefoot and some problems walking with shoes on. I typically had to wear shoes that had a 1 to 2 inch heel. Basically I had a hard time walking period. Now after the surgeries I can walk barefoot, and wear heels that are almost flat or with a higher heel. My husband and I try and walk at least 1 to 2 miles each evening. Had I not had the surgeries I would not have been able to do this. Everyone is different. Ask your surgeon what procedure(s) will be best for you. If need be, do more research. It was through that a member contacted me and told me of an Alabama college student who had soft tissue surgery done. I contacted him and he was so helpful. Keep us updated. Good luck, Texas
