Guest guest
ROB, I WENT TO THE WAYNE STATE CLINIC LAST MAY; IT WAS QUITE AN EXPERIENCE. THEY ARE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND KIND. TESTS I REMEMBER ARE EMG/SHORT NVC, DEXTERITY, SENSATION, WALKING, PHYSICAL (LIMITED), AND NEUROLOGICAL, OF COURSE. YOU WOULD PROBABLY BENEFIT FROM SEEING THEM. THERE IS NO COST TO THE PATIENT OVER WHAT YOUR INSURANCE COVERS (IF YOU HAVE INSURANCE). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. BLESSINGS, ANGELA P.
Guest guest
Rob; I went to " The Clinic " last year, (I'm due again). I found it to be a positive experience. You will be treated like a real person, not a number. You will recieve a standard neurological evaluation, ncv and emg, a physical evaluation, your ability to sense vibration and temperature will be measured at both hand and foot. You will be evaluated for AFOs and can be fitted on the spot as I chose, I have been very satisfied with mine. This can be a problem though if you don't live within easy driving distance of Detroit, Toledo or Indianapolis. Good People! Guest guest
Hi! I live in PA and made the trip to Wayne State. They prescribed AFOs there, and I took the Rx to my local prosthetic office and they made them for me. You won't have to be fitted there if you don't want. Wayne was a great experience, and the people there REALLY care! Best of luck, Rhonda
Guest guest
Thanks Patty for the valuable inputs... Is it necessary to get CMT tests done before visiting any of the clinics like Wayne State University? Can we get it done from Athena diagnostics? http://www.athenadiagnostics.com/ Has anyone of you used any facilities there? If yes, then please let us know your experiences and guidelines. Thanking in advance... Regards, - Leena Devasthali
Guest guest
Leena, It is not necessary to get DNA testing before seeing Dr. Shy at Wayne State. When I saw Dr. Shy, they had my blood drawn there and sent it off to Athena. M.
