Guest guest
Hello again everyone, I have been conferencing with Rashelle over what to do about the issues that have plagued this list lately. We recognize the complaint over the Religion issue as being valid and understandable. We have taken much time and thought in deciding what would be in the best interests of everyone. Here are some direct quotes from our thread of emails: " we don't feel that it was in anyone's best interest to tell existing members what should and what should not be said on a list primarily supported and upheld by just such individuals. However, we do realize that this has become an uncomfortable situation for some, and find that to be very unfortunate. We don't wish for anyone to be pushed out due to views of another, we also feel that it would be a tragedy for anyone needing and/or desiring support to be left without. So, having explored all the avenues to the best of our ability, we have found the most prudent and responsible decision to be to start another Life Lift list, dedicated solely to the breathing techniques, questions and answers, breathing support, and suggestions of this nature. " " Life Lift does not support any specific eating plan or diet, but does recommend making wise and healthy food choices. Life Lift is not about dieting, since it is perfectly able to help breathers achieve results on it's own merit. Therefore the new Life Lift board, will not support any form of dieting or eating plan. " " there are many support groups for dieting, and having this be a main topic of discussion, demotes the power of LL to being the ordinary attempt at finding a better way, instead of the extraordinary system that it is. Also, I would hate to think that all this discussion of dieting and what we eat or do not eat, would be enough to send some poor desperate soul into the horrible battle with anorexia or bulimia, feeling that this was a necessary part of the inch loss plan. I think that many are feeling that if they don't follow the same strict plan as some of those experiencing great losses, that it will not happen for them. This is simply not true. " Having read the above, you are probably already anticipating the next move to be taken. We have concurred that it would be best to start another Life Lift group, dedicated solely to Life Lift and the support of such program. We would like to remind you all that neither site will support any particular eating program or diet, but do encourage healthy eating habits as well as the enjoyment of such foods as each of us finds preferable. In the original LL video, Rashelle makes a definite point about making sure to eat often and to eat those foods that you truly enjoy. There is a lot to be said for this logic. We are currently in need of people who would like to help a little further by way of moderating either the new list or the current one. If you have any interest in this position, email me personally, and we will see to it that leadership is in place as soon as we able to find suitable individuals. We would like to encourage everyone to remain on this list if they would like, as well as join the new, if that would suit your situation. It is perfectly all right to belong to both lists, in that one may touch on topics that another will not. Please understand that there will be some guidelines established to govern each of these list, so if you have any suggestions, please, once again, feel free to email me privately. Rashelle sends her regrets at not being able to deal with this alone at this time, due to the insurmountable circumstances she is facing in her own life. She will be back on line later in the day, as she is currently working very diligently to maintain some form of calm and peace within her family and the hurt that is enveloping each of them. Thank you for your patience and concern as we attempt to make this a better place for everyone, striving to meet the needs of each and every individual. Sincerely, Tami
Guest guest
TexasMom, You are correct, Life Lift is about total wellness, not only breathing, but so much more. Sometimes that is a problem with having things solely in writing, it can be difficult to convey exactly was intended, I assure you no offense was intended in the original " meeting of the minds " post. I have just hung up from speaking at great length with Rashelle regarding all the different issues this list has been facing in the past few days. It's important that you understand the entire " meeting of the minds " post was written according Rashelle's instruction. It was posted by me at her request, because of the lack of energy and strength Rashelle is experiencing at this time, due to the extremely stressful health issues that have been plaguing her family as of late. I believe the reasoning behind the original post, was in trying to avoid someone feeling as if they would have to make drastic eating changes, to see the benefits of Life Lift working for them. Both Rashelle and I feel that eating is as natural as breathing, and both of us do a good amount of both. It would be very unfortunate if someone where to feel that it was necessary to cut out all the foods they love, or stick to a particular eating plan, in order to lose the excess inches that plague them. Worse case scenario, is some hurting person, most likely a lurker, would feel obligated to give up eating all together, in order to achieve the results that some have seen while following a strict eating guide. There are many definitions to the words " healthy eating " , which can make it very difficult to determine what is and what is not, truly healthy. Additionally, in our conversation today, Rashelle herself was showing some concern at the great amount of postings being dedicated to food itself. Just the mention of what some consider " forbidden " foods, can cause them to have adverse reactions. She is planning on addressing this in her own way, as soon as she is able to take some time away from holding herself and her family together. To the best of my knowledge, I believe that Life Lift is not about what we eat and do not eat, more about the healing power of the oxygen and the ability Life Lift has to renew health and create lean, muscular bodies. I'm very sorry if this has caused anyone stress or confusion, that was not the purpose at all. The intention is not to stifle anyone's opinions or convictions. The main interest is to find a way to help the listers of this group to find positive and permanent change by using Life Lift as there primary focus, with the least amount of discomfort as possible. I hope this has helped to clarify things a bit. As I mentioned earlier, Rashelle will be on line a little later in the day, to address this issue and explain her concerns a little further. Sincerely, Tami
Guest guest
With no disrespect, I was very perplexed by this email; so effected that I felt the need to write. The religion portion of the email has already been heavily addressed by all so I won't address it anymore. Much of the discussion on this board has been about making lifestyle changes for good health and for peace of mind. It appears after reading the email below that we cannot discuss these things anymore. Regardless of how wonderful LL is (it is fabulous) I don't think you can obtain good health doing even a 1000 breaths and not making other positve changes. The email said, " Life Lift does not support any specific eating plan or diet, but does recommend making wise and healthy food choices. Life Lift is not about dieting, since it is perfectly able to help breathers achieve results on it's own merit. Therefore the new Life Lift board, will not support any form of dieting or eating plan. " I think the difference between LL and other programs is that LL focuses on a total well being, believing in yourself and taking good care of yourself. I think to not offer a venue for people to discuss how to achieve the whole picture is a bit contradictory. Recommending " making wise and healthy food choices " is great but not allowing people the opportunity to discuss how to make those choices is, again, restrictive. I think the great thing about this board is people are expressing that we are all different and have different factors affecting our situations and we all can't do the same things. Numerous times, people have written that they have fallen off the wagon due to a situation or can't do as many breaths as they want, only to receive responses from people telling them to be themselves and to not try to duplicate somebody else. To say that discussing of lifestyles can lead some to eating disorders is a bit of a stretch. I think, if anything, this board has shown that you don't have to starve to obtain health. We talk about food all the time but in a positive manner; we talk that food and water are vital. A leading reson for eating disorders is also low self- esteem and not loving oneself. I can't think of a better place for someone who is down to come to and receive support from people. On the flip side, there are some on this board that are exceeding the recommended breaths a day and have felt timid about sharing that with us only to have emails from people supporting them and congratulating them on their determination and informing them that they shouldn't restrict themselves because other people can't (or don't want) to do what they do. It has worked wonderfully both ways. There's also numerous discussions about supplements, prescription medications and herbal remedies as well. I think that everyone knows that we don't individually have to take these too. To have LL that encompasses a whole positive way of breathing and feeling/beliving in yourself but then having a board where only one part of it can be discussed is very upsetting to me. I guess I'm just trying to say that no one expects LL to take a position on anything other than LL. We're all adults here and I think we would be causing a great deal of diservice to people by not being able to freely discuss and offer advice to people (whether it be food, supplements, music, etc. ) who are emailing this board for help and for making positive changes in their lives. It also feels like it would be restricting the positive things Rashelle has said on her hundreds of emails and that we should ignore the testimonials on her webpage because there's a fear we may want to copy them. On a personal note to everyone, if I ever came across to people as saying, " It's my way or the highway, I'm sorry and would hope that you would note that numerous times I've told people how we are all different with different lifestyles " . I just hate to see the board so shaken up these days, especially given the bad timing in Rashelle's life. Many other exercise programs do make basic recommendations on eating, drinking water, frequency of workout, rest, etc. Just a little something to get people started. Since LL does not currently do that, perhaps it may be an idea for the future rather than just telling people to make healthy choices but not giving them something to go on. For some, they have bad information or no information. I think everyone on this board is great and I've learned so much from everyone and enjoy everyone. There will never be a venue that will please everyone, in any situation. > Hello again everyone, > I have been conferencing with Rashelle over what to do about the issues that > have plagued this list lately.
