Guest guest
Tonia & Rose, here's my .02 on the questions of how I inhale and how long I hold my breath. On the inhale, I sniff as hard as I can upwards through my nose. I then hold it for a few seconds. You'll find that you will feel some pressure in your lungs. Once I feel that pressure, I exhale. I have found that waiting those few seconds and letting that pressure built up makes the Pahhh so much more powerful. It's kind of like popping the cork on a bottle of champagne--the pressure helps blow out the oxygen and makes the vacum lift part so much easier. Regarding holding the vacum/lift position, I think the longer the better. If I am in the car just doing the lift and no pelvic tilt or any othe position, I can hold it pretty long. I have found while holding it, I try to really squeeze hard and can feel my stomach muscles get tighter and tighter during the lift. If I am doing a position, I can only hold it about 8-10 seconds. Keep in mind that I've been doing LL for abour 4 months now. In the beginning, I coughed and sputtered and couldn't even do two breaths in a row successfully. So work up to it.
