Guest guest
, I wish sandals were an option for me. If I wear anything but sandals my feet burn in excruciating pain. It makes it difficult for me to do the things I used to do with tennis shoes . . . too much pain. I tried medications to stop the burning but to no avail. We're all in this together just maybe not in the same ways. : )
Guest guest
, I do not wear AFOs nor have I ever. I have met others with CMT too who do not wear AFOs. Please remember we are all different in how our CMT is expressed due to our unique individual coding. Sandal wearing in the summer is often a concern - go through some of our archives and you will find this topic has been discussed before. ~ Gretchen <tigerboy@c...> wrote: > I have seen so many posts recently about sandals, etc. Am I wrong, or don't most people with CMT wear AFOs > K. Guest guest
, You're wrong. I don't wear AFOs and I do wear sandals when I can find them. I like my sandals to be as attractive as possible considering that I need them practically wrapped around my foot. LOL! Hint: I often buy men's sandals because they are wider to begin with. Some fashions are almost identical to women's. I detect some derision for those of us who aren't as severely affected as you are: as though we should just be grateful for not being completely disabled. Sorry, but I still want to have as normal an appearance as possible. While I am still able to function within the sandal wearing world, I will do so with aplomb. Guest guest
, I don't wear AFOs. Never have. I can not wear sandals because they aren't secure enough for my feet. I walk right out of them. I would rather have an enclosed shoe, like a sneaker. I feel more stable.
