My Introduction

Hello to all,

I was lucky enough to come across your group this past weekend and have

enjoyed reading all of the emails that have since come along.

I am a mother of a 14 yr old son who was diagnosed with CMT June 2001. We

thought he was doing okay except for the last 6 months, he had to have knee

surgery to correct a knee cap that just woundnt stay put (it had nothing to do

with

sports etc, it just kept happening). Now, 3 months after surgery our

neurologist is telling us that his heel cords and really tightened up and his

foot

drop has gotten worse. Now we are struggling to find out our options as well as

what surgery would do now and in the future. I have been going to CHOP of Phila

for both the neurologist and surgeon but have also now been in contact with

AI Dupont who happens to be having their first : " Open House " March 31 to meet

with reps from MS MDA CMTA and of course the doctors. My whole family wants to

attend to get educated more.
