Guest guest
They make a water shoe you can buy at most stores like target and walmart. They are stretch so they fit a high instep. I use these but they don't give a lot of support as far as walking around in. You can also use canvas tennis shoes too. Guest guest
The sandals I have to wear have to have a certain size heel and they must have a strap to hold them on in the back. At the beach, I just try to walk barefoot. Another option is the booties that you wear with scuba gear. My mother, however, could NEVER wear sandals without straps until she found Birkenstocks. I've seen posts about them before too. They make her feel better because once she found a style that worked for her she can wear them without back straps. I can't wear them at all because of the flat issue for me. You should try them out. She swears by them and wears them at the beach all the time! Hope that helped a little. Guest guest
I have always been very self conscious when I go to the beach because of my feet and what I usually do is slowly work my feet under the sand so nobody can see them. Now my secret is out...lol. Anyway, isn't there a shoe you can wear even in the water? Does anybody use these and if so if you have the classic CMT high arch can you wear them? I have a hard time wearing anything slip on and I really, really can not wear sandals because I walk right out of them. Any information would be greatly appreciated - and once again it is great to be able to communicate with other CMTers! Thanks!
Guest guest
, Hi , I have had the same problem at the beach. I think a water shoe with a lace would help a lot. A shoe with a lace would help when walking on the sand too. Something like the shoe on this website. http://www.worldwideaquatics.com/catalog/default.asp?PID=2373
Guest guest
The helmet cannot get wet and the babes get hot quickly. We are inside now and will be for most of the time he is in his helmet. It’s very inconvenient, but you may want to plan on spending most of the next few months inside. He loves to go in our pool, but now we only go in for 30 minutes. I save the other 30 for bath time at night. I want to keep it on for as close to 23 hours a day as I can so it’s over as quickly as possible. And one last question we are located in the Tropics in QLD, Australia so it gets very hot here in the summer and for that matter the winters are average 29 degree days as well, is there anything that l would be able to do to make the helmut more confortable and not sweaty for him? Guest guest
I am so glad you are able to get him help. From what I understand that can be quite difficult in Oz! My daughter wore her band last summer and we went to the beach at least 1 time a week. We took it off while we were in the sand - and put it on again after washing the suncreen out of her hair and head. I do know some here took babies to the beach and they wore it while there - I think it depends on the temp. As far as keeping cool - we were inside during the heat of the day - and if we were out and temp got to high we would take it off. Dress lightly - like just a onsie. Do not get teh band wet - but your ortho should be able to discuss all thier care instructions with you when you get the band. Good Luck and keep us updated!!! Guest guest
You can take the helmet off periodically and wipe with a dry wash cloth. You can use some of the time at the beach as his hour off- time (but stick as close to 23 hours as possible). No, you don't want to get the helmet wet. If you take the band off and put sunscreen on then you will want to wash and dry your son's hair prior to putting the helmet back on. We live in AZ so we would stay in when it was hot outside. Also, dress your baby lightly. I'd ask your ortho for more tips. > > I am so glad you are able to get him help. From what I understand that can be quite difficult in Oz!
