Hello. My name is Mandy , and I have only posted once

several years ago. However, I do read everyone's posts, and am very

grateful for the positive info! I am 37 yo, with 2 sons (5 and 9).

I had genetic testing which indicated CMT 1A, though I haven't had

my kids tested yet. My oldest has flat feet/hypotonic, youngest has

absent reflexes in legs, tight heelcords. My mother may have had

CMT with some other issues (severe spinal cord atrophy) from a tumor

when she was a child. She believed strongly in the benefits of Vit

C, and took about 4g a day for many years. In fact, she had a

resistant staph infection in her blood, and it settled into her

hip/shoulder bones when I was 7 yo. She seemed to bring it into

remission with the Vit C and lived nearly 30 more years.

Anyway, I have taken vit C at times through my life for colds

etc. so I have certainly decided to bulk it up after seeing the

recent posts! Started 2 weeks ago, and am now taking 8-12g day. I

found something called C-Salts on www.nutri.com (linked to Vit C

Foundation). Company is Wholesale Nutrition in Saratoga CA. It is

powdered ascorbate which effervesces when mixed with water to

eliminate all the acid which might give heartburn etc. Contains per

tsp powder/3T of water- 4000mg Vit C, and 15% RDA of potassium,

calcium, magnesium, and zinc. It is an easy way to take higher doses

without the stomach upset!! I can mix it very easily for my kids

also, and put in their juice.

Take care all--- Mandy
