Guest guest
Welcome Lynn. From what you described, sure sounds like CMT symptoms. I had a pair of rolling feet once too, although my ankles have been OK. I don't have numbness, but CMT symptoms are so diverse and really depend on one's genetic code. I'm a toe walker by nature, so no drop foot here. Used to have bad balance, even on flat ground. One tour I made to the Australian rainforrests had us wildlife spotting at night and walking in mud - after I got home, my internist suggested I get full in-shoe custom orthotics, which have made a world of difference in balance for me. I don't have hand involvement, but I have learned to pace myself - in gardening I set a timer, and no matter what, when my hour is up, I quit. I do something else, then go back. Any burning I have is on the bottom of my feet - easy to use ice packs or BioFreeze. Fatigue, I keep myself on a schedule, and get good sleep at night - maybe an afternoon nap/rest/meditation time. If you are on your feet alot, maybe orthotics or AFOs might help. You will find people here with all different symptoms and stages. I am assuming you have had the EMG/NCV test and perhaps the DNA test. That should pretty much narrow things down for you. Here is a great patient support website that you might find helpful also http://cmtworld.org ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Hi Lynne, It is nice to meet you. My daughter is an artist - we spend a lot of time in frame shops. I feel like I know you already, lol
