Vitamin C dosage for children?

I am trying to titrate the optimal dosage of Vitamin C for my ten

year old son who has CMT1a and weighs 80 lbs. I started quite

conservatively, giving him 250 mg twice a day plus the 54 mg

contained in his regular multivitamin and whatever he got through

dietary intake (orange juice and the like). After a month, I added

a 500 mg time-release pill so the total dosage was up to 1054 mg

plus dietary intake. I'm keeping track of his performance on

various tasks and noting anecdotal evidence as a way of trying to

measure any progress.

I would appreciate hearing from others who give Vitamin C to their

children what dosages they used and at what dosage, if any, they

noted any change they think attributable to the Vitamin C.

Thanks.

Bob
