Guest guest Posted April 9, 2004 Report Share Posted April 9, 2004 , In the French Vit. C study that I researched and wrote about, the way Vitamin C worked was as a promoter of myelin. (Myelin is the stuff that is wrapped around the nerves; that in CMT 1A gets frayed and lost, thus creating muscle atropy). As a promoter of myelin, this most likely means that Vitamin C helps to keep myelin intact and perhaps even make it stronger. This is one question of many I will ask Dr. Fontes about.
