Guest guest
, I take Blackstrap (Molasses) Iron 150mg once a day and this also has Vitamin C in it for greater asorbtion. I also take 1 Vitamin E gelcap at 1000 mg each day. These were recommended to me by my Internist and have definitely " proved " themselves. But I get some REAL dose of supplements from drinking the purest artesian water, FijiWater. This has more information than I can write - http://fijiwater.com/site/w_composition.html I have been drinking this water since 1997, and have studied quite a bit about it from the 2 books written. The silica content has indeed helped me - besides helping me give up cafeine, sodas, and sweets all together, 2 or 3 liters a day keeps my hydrated and the blood flowing to the muscles where the silica helps muscle, nerve and connective tissue. My water goes with me - to appointments, meetings, exercise and is here at the computer. Any guest at my house knows Fijiwater is always " on tap " . lol Because CMT is a genetic disorder (and I do not know my specific type, other than neuronal) there is no arrestment YET. NT-3 and Vitamin C studies both have showed great promise, although further research is needed. Since CMT is not an immune disorder, treatments like those for CIDP won't work. I believe in taking care of myself in the best ways possible, FOR ME. Another " natural supplement " I use from time to time is a NAP. A bit of extra sleep does wonders for me and the quality of my life. I hope you can find some ways to help your " friend " . ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Dear Grethen, Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me what supplements work for you. I am gradually piecing together a regimine for my friend who has CMT1. Of course, we will want his doctor to monitor his absorption of the vitamins and minerals, especially. Thank you especially for the info. about the water!
